Hockey: Whose Game Is It?
I was honoured to have the opportunity to design the “Hockey: Whose Is it?” with the folks at the Nova Scotia Museum of Industry (MOI). It was not a hard project for me to get excited about given that it combined my love of exhibits and hockey. This exhibit “Told the stories of Nova Scotia’s diverse hockey history. From the late 1800’s to the present day, introduced visitors to some of the people and communities who have made hockey what it is today.” In combination with a beautiful traveling exhibit the MOI borrowed from the Canadian Museum of History, offered lots of stories to see, hear and interact with.
One of my favourite parts of our exhibit are the playing cards panels highlighting trail brazing individuals representing their communities proud hockey heritage. These panels plus several of the other exhibit components where borrowed by the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame for them to display in the Mezzanine of the ScotiaBack Centre in Halifax where it hosted 2023 World Junior Championships. Although designed as a temporary exhibit, most of the exhibit components have found permanent homes at the Sports Hall of Fame and other museums in Nova Scotia.
I also designed the visual identity and marketing materials to promote this exhibit including logos, freestanding banner stands, rackcards, and social media graphic elements.
